New music business models

Nice idea, glad the music execs were there to hear about it. It might, just might, inspire them..

"Can you imagine being at a concert and saying, 'OK, everyone turn on your Bluetooth. We're going to send you a ring tone for free just for being here at the concert'?" Andrews said."

  1. Totally agree. This is the future of clubbing, concerts and festivals. Why?
    1) Real value add for visitors
    2) Competitive differentiation and customer loyalty (now it is all about sameness)
    3) Experience economy with more value add services

Getting a great live set of Tiesto or Armin van Buuren on your mobile phone instantly (or a song). See also www.dance-tunes.com but that concept is only the beginning indeed. The emotional value of a great musical experience is very high and thus people want it instantly and pay for it in my opinion. It might be included in the ticket sales beforehand in some cases.

  2. Yup, I myself just set up a Dutch company on it: http://www.lostwire.nl, for now only in Dutch, but some examples of what can be done with the software we develop:

    - in a club send photos through bluetooth and they will be placed live on the web
    - leave your address details when a shop already closed
    - watch filmtrailers or music intro's on your mobile after you've send the barcode through bluetooth.
    - order your lunch just by sending the attached barcode trough bluetooth
    - send a musicfile to the DJ

    and lots more..

  3. Yep, interesting. Would not surprise me to see more commercial Semacode applications in the near future. How do you send photos over Bluetooth and place them on the web? The club will need a server accepting and publishing these photos I guess?
