I feel Google has a good chance at capturing market share, the fact they are using the XMPP protocol (developed by Jabber), and will support SIP in the near future, certainly helps. There already are many clients using the XMPP protocol, and many users who are using these clients. Let's hope the others (MSN, Yahoo!, AIM, ICQ, Skype) will do the same, the world would be a better place without these interoperability problems.... Wishful thinking of course;-)
